The Neurobiological Changes Across Pregnancy (NCAP) study is a longitudinal study that examines brain structure and function, hormone levels, inflammatory markers, cognitive functioning, and mental health over the course of the preconception, pregnancy, and postpartum periods. Our goal is to better understand how the brain changes during pregnancy, the effect changing hormone levels may exert on the brain, and how both of these changes influence mental health. Participants will complete an MRI, an EEG, collection of bio-samples, cognitive tasks, and questionnaires over the course of the preconception to postpartum period. This project will provide unprecedented understanding of the changes the brain undergoes during pregnancy, as well as the implications of these changes for mental health and cognition.
