Teach by Example (TbE)
The Teach by Example (TbE) study focuses on promoting parenting education and early intervention within the first year of life. This fully remote project invites first-time parents to complete an online program providing information about day-to-day caregiving contexts, behaviors, and interactions, designed to strengthen caregiving sensitivity and parent-child relationships. Parents of 4-6-month-old infants will complete one of two online programs, and afterwards, participate in a video-recorded interaction task with their child, as well as a brief set of questionnaires. Six months later, families will complete the same interaction task and follow-up questionnaires. This project will help clarify how specific methods of parenting education programs can produce meaningful change in caregiving behaviors and early parent-child relationships during a critical window of infant development.
